“Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering” – Ida Scott Taylor McKinney
L for Learn to Live in the Present
Many of us cry over the past and are not able to move on. And many are scared about the future and what it holds for them. What happens when we live this way? We miss out on the little things in life and are not able to be happy.
Don’t regret over the past
We left past behind us, and that is exactly where it is supposed to be. Whatever happened in the past cannot be changed. What can be changed is our current actions. We should learn from our past and make sure we do not repeat the actions which hurt us or others. It is difficult to forget to forget, but at-least we can accept the reality and move on.
Don’t be worried about the future
Because we don’t know what is going to happen. Our present actions create our future. And if we want a good future, we need to take care of our present. How can we live in the future when we don’t know anything about it?
Live in the present
We miss out tiny and beautiful moments of our present when we dwell in past or are always worried about the future. Remember the past and future are just illusions. And that makes you helpless because you cannot control those events. When you live in the present, you accept your life as it is and have the power over your actions. Stay positive about your life and see the miracles happening 🙂 Love what you do, and if you don’t love it, It’s time for a change. Laugh as hard as you can. Spend time with your kids. Watch them grow and be grateful of what you have.
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” – Buddha

Living in present is the key to happiness. Today we have so many things going around us that we don’t want to add one more tension to our list by thinking about our future and regretting over the past
We know this simple rule but often forget to do the same. This is a timely reminder Anchal. Thanks a lot.
Its never good to dwell in the past and we should move on. But, its easy to say then actually do it. We like to hold on the memories of the past and in turn lose the hold on our present.
Today, the present, the gift! How true. The only thing that we can claim ours is the present!
Well thought, well penned post.
