If life gave me a second chance..

If life gave me a second chance

If life gave me a second chance,

I would snuggle my mother and sleep till I get tired,

I would listen to her and never question her intentions.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would live my childhood again without the constant urge to become an adult,

I would play all day long and make new friends everyday.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would work hard to become a doctor like my parents wanted,

And not waste time repenting upon petty issues.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would not be afraid to take risks,

And do the best I can to prove myself.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would travel alone around the world as much as possible,

And learn about the history of every place visited.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would read each and every book written,

and write a book myself.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would care less about the world and do what my heart wanted to.

I would love and hate the one I want to.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would fall in love again, the crazy, stupid love

And always love like a teenager.

If life gave me a second chance,

I would never commit the mistakes I made,

And always believe that God has a plan.

  1. Wow very beautifully you rhymed this poem on second chance. I always wish if I would get second chance for many things. Specially I want a second chance to go back to my childhood days and want to live that beautiful life with my parents again. But I wish it would happen.

  2. Wow, very beautifully written! I think most people feel the same, I certainly crave the ability to live like a child again; without a worry or a care. Lovely poem, thank you for sharing!

  3. Wow that’s heartfelt and beautiful. I also believe that God has a wonderful plan for us all, if we will only believe and accept it. I pray that I will be able to live in such a way that I wouldn’t desire a second chance at this journey called life.

  4. How wonderfully you have put your thoughts in this poem, I am sure all of us crave for that second chance in life to turn back the time or the moments which we want to re-live but that is something which is not possible always. However we can always try to make efforts to improve our coming days or fulfill our dreams.

  5. I don’t think I’d actually want a second chance if I’m being honest. Sure, there is a lot of bad in my life that I would have preferred to go without, but I actually like the way I am, and I don’t know if I would be me without my experiences.

  6. Beautiful thoughts! Alas, we don’t get a second chance. All we can really do is try not to have regrets for the remainder of our lives!

  7. That’s a lovely poem! And what makes it a pleasure to read is how you have penned it down so beautifully using simple language. I sometimes can’t read through poems because they sound too complicated…. But yours was an absolute pleasure to read. Looking forward to more!!!

  8. WOW, what a lovely poem. You have such a great way with words. Not only that but you have shown me something beautiful when things are a little dark.

  9. What a lovely well-written poem. I think it’s a great reminder that we need to look at the big picture in life and not worry so much about the little things. At the end of our lives, what will it be that mattered most? It’s something we should think about right now while we have an opportunity to change course, if needed, and perhaps do things differently.

  10. Lovely..I strongly believe God has his own plans for us. We can look back and think all the things we did in the past but its always better to accept and not regret.

  11. Beautifully written. I don’t know what I’d do if I was given the opportunity to start over. To be honest, I am pretty happy where I am and my past choices (good or bad) made me what I am today so I would probably not change anything

  12. Lovely thoughts , if I get a second chance , will never do some mistakes which I have done unintentionally . So that I feel better.

  13. You’ve expressed your thoughts so well. One of the best I’ve ever read. If I get a second chance I’ll go back to my childhood and live those moments again…

  14. You have written so beautifully in second chance… I love the rhyme and it is so meaningful… If life will give me a second chance, I would love to go back to my childhood days…

  15. Such a very heartfelt poem. If I have a second chance, I guess I will definitely spend more time with my family as I am away from them because of work.

  16. If I had a second chance, I would have fought harder to find the cause of my back injuries. I would have had surgery sooner rather than putting it off.

I try to take life in strides but I would opt for less lemons and more smiles.

  17. Beautifully penned down. Honestly not sure what i did do if life gave me a second chance coz i always live for the moment and do what I can then with the best of my ability. but one thing for sure… worry less and smile more

  18. It’s funny because my husband and I were literally just having this conversation about wishing we could go back. He got very sentimental about being a child whereas in contrast I don’t miss many things about those days. Not to say that I wouldn’t want to go back to see people again or change some decisions.

  19. Wow! Beautiful poem. Never knew you are such an amazing poet too. Makes me realize that, it’s my firat and last chance so I shall live my life to the fullest❀

  20. Such a beautiful poem !!! We rarely get second chance , but if we are lucky enough to have one then we should take the advantage & do what was undone.
